Chunk the Groundhog Got His Own Garden
If you can’t beat them, feed them
I know you remember the story of Chunk, the groundhog. Chunk would steal into a man’s garden and eat the human’s vegetables right in front of the motion detector camera set up to find out what was happening in the garden. Chunk was so cute eating the veggies that the man did not want to use destructive techniques to stop him from consuming his veggies. Because of this, Chunk defeated all the things the man tried to keep Chunk out of his garden.
In fact, Chunk enjoyed the garden so much that he brought his girlfriend to experience the feast. The man could see both groundhogs eating the food he was growing for himself. When the groundhogs went to hibernate, the man changed tactics.
He planted an easy-access garden in front of his garden for Chunk. Then, he reinforced the fencing around the garden containing the food he wanted to eat. It was a good thing he did because when Chuck returned, his girlfriend had turned into a baby mama. Chuck, his girl, and four delightful little Chipmunks were eating away.
I am all for this human doing all he can to protect the groundhogs. They are not pests. They just stumbled upon an exceptional outdoor buffet: Hurray, us.
