Complaining Bitterly As You Get Better

I have been going to cardio rehabfor three months, three times a week, for an hour because of my pacemaker defibrillator. Both of my natural parents died of heart disease before they were fifty-five. My heart was out of sync. My left ventricle was not communicating well with my right ventricle. The ICD pacemaker fixed all of that.
After being retired for four years, I was not interested in getting up early. I got up early for my entire career. First as an engineer, then later as an executive in charge of large manufacturing sites around the world. I enjoyed the pleasure of being able to sleep in if I wanted, although most days, I was up and about by 8:30 am.
My relaxing morning routine went to pieces because the rehab class started at 9:30 am. I had become very spoiled with getting up whenever I wanted, gently stretching, getting a cup of coffee, and sitting poolside, petting my cats.
