I disagree. The president’s bungled coronavirus response has not moved the president’s approval rate. The people who support Trump will support him no matter what. Once I understood that, my relationships with my Trumpster family and friends got much better.

There is nothing I (or Trump) can do to change their vote. They have fallen and they can’t get up. My voice exists for them but they can’t hear me. My time and energy are better spent turning out the vote. There is no deeper, richer, and vital conversations for me. Such conversations will not change their minds. And I have work to do.
