I love your sentiment; you make well-written good points. There are places to work like that. Unfortunately, the young woman I was counseling does not live in that environment. Yes, the style in most companies is male: characterized by dominance and intimidation. Once a person chooses to walk the Leadership path the choices are brutal. The higher up you go, the more people depending on you, the more demanding being a Leader becomes. There are wolves in the room who will devour you and your organization… making your team and you miserable while you are sitting politely and giving them a place at the table. I want a better world. In the meantime, I will pragmatically help knowledgeable decent women deal with the real world so they can get promoted to make change.
