Some presents you don’t want
“Don’t eat me; it’s Christmas Eve,” said the warrior woman. She was standing in the middle of a large cave. Of the 100 people taken initially, there were only 21 left. The Monster would move the boulder that trapped them in a small cave, take one person out, and eat them. They could hear the person and the Monster talking until the Monster took their life. The survivors knew he would return for someone else in three days.
When he was done, the monster brought the picked clean bones back and stacked them in a corner of the entrance to the larger cave. When he left, another victim went with him. The bone pile was growing while the terrified group got smaller. Rhye knew once they were all consumed, he would return to their village to get 100 more people to eat. They were his herd.
The monster preferred his food, dressed in bright colors. They had discarded once every piece of colorful clothing the group figured that out. There were people in their underwear rather than the beautiful clothing they had worn. Everyone looked so dirty and dingy as any dirt in the area was smeared on their bodies to look as unappetizing as possible.
