This is a classic ”Show me your papers” bill that forces Hispanic-looking Americans to carry documentation.
If passed, the bill will encourage people to turn in random Latinos hoping to get $1,000. This approach subjects anyone who speaks English with an accent to being harassed by strangers looking to make a quick buck.
Neighbors will report neighbors, coworkers will report coworkers, and anyone else who could generate cash for them.
Not a good look, America.
