What she was experiencing was one of my cats lying in wait. He sat so still in a standard cat pose you don’t think he is alive. This cat can impose stillness on an entire room by walking into the room, catching the attention of the humans in the room, then settling down quietly and carefully.

He is a beautiful mahogany brown cat with dark points and boots. His stillness commands attention. Eventually, everyone will watch him to see if he moves. He will not. The cat will sit still for hours. It is delightful in the room for the human silently watching the cat.
