Well written with great points, but I respectfully disagree. I got on Medium for two reasons. 1. I love to write, and equally important to me-- 2. I wanted to make extra money to give nice things to my grandkids. So yes, one of my primary motivations is money.

I am not alone in that. Everyone does not have the resources you do--they need the money that Medium pays to buy a lunch or a pair of shoes. America is hard for many these days; Medium's money is a help.
