What Do You Miss the Most About the Pandemic?

Before I get the requisite beat down by those who will say I am a heartless bitch, let me be clear. I lost family and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have nothing but empathy for others who also experienced loss. I send out healing energy to them. No one can replace lost loved ones.

But I am a dark-humored pragmatist. Two years of isolation deeply affected my life and my way of thinking. I was standing in a tight line when the thought hit me that if this were during the pandemic, there would be six feet between me and the people in front and in back of me. I miss that inviolate area of space we established around each person to avoid the virus.

I could not pull out once I started down the “what I miss” path.
